Bayer Leverkusen Extends Exequiel Palacios' Contract

New Deal Runs Until 2025

Argentine World Cup Winner Signs Extension

German Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen has announced a contract extension with Argentine midfielder Exequiel Palacios. The new deal will keep Palacios at the club until 2025, two years longer than his previous contract, which was set to expire in 2023. The 24-year-old Palacios has made 95 appearances for Leverkusen since joining the club from River Plate in 2020, scoring seven goals and providing 11 assists.

Palacios was a key member of Argentina's World Cup-winning team in Qatar, playing in four matches and starting in the final against France. He has also been capped 10 times by the senior Argentina national team. Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes said: "Exequiel is a very important player for us. He brings quality and experience to our team, and he is also a great personality in the dressing room. We are delighted to extend his contract and we believe he can continue to play a major role in our success."

Palacios said: "I am very happy to sign a new contract with Bayer Leverkusen. I feel at home here, and I am proud to be part of this team. We have a great squad with a lot of potential, and I believe we can achieve a lot together in the coming years." Leverkusen are currently top of the Bundesliga, one point ahead of Bayern Munich. They will face Freiburg in their next match on Saturday.
